About Us
Oceania Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Ltd (OPM) is an Auckland-based manufacturer and packer of dietary supplements. As our production operations continue to grow, we are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented QA Assistant to join our Quality Assurance team.
This entry-level position is ideally suited to a recent bachelor’s degree graduate in Food Science, Food Technology, Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science, Biological Science, Chemistry, or another relevant discipline. Training and career development opportunities will be provided to the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with maintaining the company’s quality management systems, including RMP, GMP, SOPs, and related quality documentation.
Assist with drafting, reviewing, updating, filing, and archiving production and quality documents.
Check production, packaging, cleaning, and other routine quality records for completeness and accuracy.
Assist with the receipt, sampling, release, and status control of raw materials, in-process products, and finished products.
Conduct production-floor inspections to help ensure that manufacturing and packaging activities comply with approved procedures.
Assist with managing deviations, change controls, customer complaints, product recalls, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Support equipment qualification, cleaning validation, process validation, and environmental monitoring activities.
Coordinate the submission of samples for laboratory testing, collate test results, and maintain the relevant records.
Assist with preparations for internal audits, supplier audits, and inspections by regulatory authorities such as the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI).
Perform other quality-related duties as assigned by the QA Manager.
Requirements
A recent bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science, Biological Science, Chemistry, or another relevant discipline.
This position is primarily intended for recent graduates; previous relevant work experience is not required.
Strong spoken and written communication skills in both English and Chinese, with the ability to communicate effectively and handle work-related documentation in both languages.
An interest in quality assurance within the food, dietary supplement, or pharmaceutical industry.
A careful and detail-oriented approach, with a strong sense of responsibility and good document-control awareness.
Strong communication, learning, and teamwork skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other commonly used office software.
Applicants must have valid legal working rights in New Zealand.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates who:
Have an understanding of GMP, HACCP, RMP, or food safety management systems.
Have completed an internship in a food, dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, or laboratory environment.
Possess basic knowledge of microbiology, food chemistry, or quality control.
Are interested in developing a long-term career in quality assurance, food safety, regulatory compliance, or quality management.
