Position Overview: We are seeking a Gateman to join our team for a hotel refurbishment project located in Auckland City, New Zealand. The Gateman will be responsible for overseeing access points, ensuring security protocols are followed, and assisting with general site operations. This role requires the ability to work both day and night shifts to accommodate project needs.
Responsibilities:
Site Access Control:
Manage access to the construction site, ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter the premises.
Verify identification and credentials of individuals seeking access.
Maintain accurate records of site entry and exit times.
Traffic Management:
Direct incoming and outgoing traffic to designated areas within the site.
Ensure the safe and orderly flow of vehicles in and out of the premises.
Coordinate with construction teams to minimize disruptions to traffic flow.
Security Monitoring:
Conduct regular patrols of the site perimeter to identify and report any security breaches or suspicious activities.
Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm systems to promptly address any security concerns.
Collaborate with security personnel to implement necessary measures to safeguard the site.
Safety Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
Provide guidance to visitors and contractors on safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Report any safety hazards or violations to the appropriate authorities.
Communication:
Serve as a point of contact for contractors, suppliers, and visitors entering the site.
Communicate effectively with project managers and other stakeholders regarding site access issues or concerns.
Respond promptly to inquiries and requests for assistance.
Requirements:
Valid Work Visa: Must possess the legal right to work in New Zealand.
Flexibility: Ability to work both day and night shifts as required by project schedules.
Reliability: Punctual and dependable, with a strong commitment to fulfilling assigned duties consistently.
Communication Skills: Clear verbal communication abilities in English to interact effectively with colleagues, visitors, and contractors.
Security Awareness: Basic understanding of security principles and protocols, with a keen eye for detail to detect potential risks or breaches.
Physical Fitness: Capable of standing for extended periods and performing moderate physical tasks as necessary.
Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with others and contribute to a positive working environment.
Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
